Personal Quest for Improved Health Spurs Latina Entrepreneur’s Interest in Nutrition and Business Ownership
Jennifer Delgado’s unlikely journey as Movita customer-turned-franchisee began about two years ago when she sought relief from persistent digestive problems. Today, as the Latina entrepreneur and her husband work toward the early 2026 launch of their Movita location in Anaheim, Calif., she recalls how it all began.
“All I could consume without having flare-ups were smoothies. My stomach issues flipped my world upside down. It was a wake-up call to analyze my diet. I did constant research on foods that would make me feel better. That ignited my passion for nutrition and wellness,” she says. “In between doctors’ visits, endoscopies and symptoms, I started to talk about my issues online,” ultimately building a community of more than 50,000 followers. “I’ve since created a gut-health protocol that works for me and enabled me to finish the Los Angeles Marathon twice.”
Food as Fuel
Delgado’s intense interest in healthy eating also pointed her toward a new professional pursuit — becoming a certified holistic nutritionist. While studying to earn certification, she applied for a job at her local Movita Juice Bar where she had been a customer. “I remembered how upbeat and positive the environment felt every time I would visit the store, and when I got the chance to work there, I loved everything about it. From prepping the fresh fruits and veggies to interacting with the customers, it felt like a place where people cared about their health and overall well-being,” she says.
“Working for Movita Juice Bar is amazing because you’re working with clean, healthy options that can make a positive impact on people’s lives. As a teen, I loved endurance sports like swimming and running. It was then that I learned food was fuel. The more fruit, veggies and healthy fats I ate, the better my sport performance was. Fruits and vegetables have an endless amount of benefits, and sharing that with our customers is very rewarding. When customers ask me about the benefits of our juice and smoothies, I love to throw out fun health facts when I get the chance.”

Delgado quickly moved up in the juice bar franchise. “After a couple of months working as a barista, I was promoted to shift captain. I learned a lot about how the company operates and wanted to be more involved. I reached out to the marketing team with ideas on how educational content could benefit the brand. I created a sample video on the benefits of our products and how we can reach a large audience while showcasing the nutritional benefits of our products. From that point on, my responsibilities as a certified holistic nutritionist have been to create content around Movita’s products, highlighting the benefits and importance of consuming whole foods.”
